Beloved Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
Stateside actor Finn, who appeared in popular television series including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in LA recently having undergone treatment for cancer since 2022, per media reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - only friends he hadn't encountered," his family stated in a message.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a regular part on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a social organizer known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his television work, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored countless students throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he shared online.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
