Slot Maintains He Feels Safe and Has The Club's Support After PSV Eindhoven Humiliation

Arne Slot acknowledged that it's natural for doubts to be raised about his future following another convincing loss versus PSV Eindhoven.

Liverpool suffered their 9th loss in twelve games, marking the team's worst streak since being relegated in the 1953-54 season.

They were taken apart by the Dutch league champions on a tough night at their home ground.

“I feel secure, I am OK, I've received plenty of support from the top,” Slot stated.

“It would be great to change things and earn three points naturally but if you are in a managerial role and struggling then it's typical that doubts arise.”

He continued, “I'm comfortable with my role. It is not the first time I’ve been in a challenging situation but it's crucial that we turned it around.”

Talks with Liverpool Hierarchy

Upon being questioned to provide details on his discussions with the team officials, the head coach said:

“We talk a lot. They assist to the team and to me and we have those conversations but they don’t call me every single minute of the day to say they back me.”

He mentioned, “During our regular discussions I sense the belief. But I've not talked to them after this game so far so let’s see.”

Persistent Problems and Player Response

The manager expressed regret over known failings from his team in their Champions League defeat, specifically missed opportunities and defensive lapses.

Meanwhile, midfielder Curtis Jones was blunter in his assessment of the club’s predicament.

“I haven't got the solutions. Frankly, I do not. I’m saying that to everybody,” the midfielder said.

“It’s just not good enough. I don’t even need to wait to consider it. I’m past being angry inside. I've reached the stage currently where I just don’t have the words.”

He went on, “It's difficult because I play for the side I follow. I support them, and I've watched this club all my life.”

“For many years, I've not seen a Reds side going through a period of this nature with results like these.”

Jones stated, “But we continue to wear that badge on our shirts. And until it is removed, we'll continue to compete.”

“We’re going to try to help the side return to its rightful place, demonstrate to all again the values of this club and the reason it's called the greatest side in the world.”

“But right now, things are bad and it needs to change.”
