Soccer Analyst Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions
Arsenal's ten-match winning streak came to an end by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, however can the Premier League leaders bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.
In week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
The singer's new album, the new release, is out on the weekend.
Football and Family Experiences
Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.
"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."
The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer team," he said.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a while too.
"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this fixture will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
The singer's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.
The Hammers' sole away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest manager.
So, what on earth do I predict here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?
I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
Olly's prediction: The home team are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four games.
A family member advised me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.
The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had great success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at their stadium. The visitors will try to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six games.
They have have lots of talent in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.
As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.
The away side's display in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing to do to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.
But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.
Looking at Fulham's home record, the only team they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
Olly's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
