The former Liverpool manager states coming back to coach Liverpool is theoretically possible.
Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down from Liverpool in 2024, has suggested that rejoining the club remains an option. The 58-year-old, after a transformative nine-year spell that included a European Cup triumph and the Premier League crown in 30 years, currently occupies positions as head of global soccer for Red Bull and as an advisor with the German Football League.
Fan Sentiment and His Frank Comments
The club claimed the Premier League last season, though countless followers holding him in high esteem would embrace the notion that he may eventually return. Speaking candidly, he told his interviewer: “I said I refuse to lead a different club in England. Therefore in case it's my former club...absolutely. In theory, it could happen.”
“Being 58, so I could make the decision in a few years, it's uncertain. Do I have to make the decision today? If so, I wouldn't return. Luckily, no such pressure exists. I'll simply watch what lies ahead.”

He spoke highly regarding Arne Slot, crediting him for the tweaks which secured the championship last term. They've been defeated four consecutive matches in every contest post heavy investment, yet he dismissed the suggestion of it representing a decline.

Klopp also spoke emotionally regarding the passing of Jota, a player he signed during his tenure, and the effect on Liverpool. Jota was killed in a vehicle collision alongside his brother recently.
“How do you replace somebody like Diogo? This isn't just regarding his footballing ability, it’s the guy he was. It's hard to picture the dressing room missing him. I still cannot speak properly about it. A profound tragedy for his teammates also. Nobody at Liverpool will ever use it to justify results but it is the situation. Being in that space which he filled completely. Handling this emotionally is not easy. Impossible.”
