Defense authorities is actively proceeding to strip the Duke's remaining ceremonial military position in accordance with the wishes of the King, the defense minister has declared.
John Healey confirmed the Monarch had "indicated that's what he wishes".
The Duke, who was lost his royal prince status on Thursday, kept his naval rank in the UK naval forces after relinquishing his remaining defense appointments in two years ago.
"This is a move that's right, the King has directed us to implement this measure and we're working on that at the moment," the official informed the BBC's Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg.
