The President Calls Families of Attacked National Guard Members to White House

Former President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has asked the loved ones of a National Guard member killed last week to come to the White House.

He noted that he spoke to her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Background on the Devastating Incident

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a attack on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in grave state.

Memorials across the state have taken place in their memory.

Presidential Offer

The commander-in-chief stated he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the parents of both soldiers of the state Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor her,” the president informed the press. “And in the same way with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Community members came together over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to remember Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to support public safety in DC.

Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the kind of student that teachers hoped for. She carried herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a positive energy that inspired those around her,” Hankins, the principal of Beckstrom’s former high school, stated to the media. “She was kind, compassionate and always eager to help others.”

Service plans for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Legal Steps and Government Adjustments

Authorities have charged a 29-year-old suspect with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The event prompted the government to suspend asylum applications and halt issuing visas to possessors of Afghan passports.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, enlisted in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, per the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, the state’s governor the governor stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general the attorney general told the program that she aimed to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Legacy of Sarah Beckstrom

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had courage,” he addressed the gathering at the service. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
