The two batters have been on opposing sides in the past two Ashes contests.
Aussie batter Travis Head disclosed that he reached out to English fellow opener Ben Duckett following a video circulated appearing to show the player in a drunken state before the MCG Test.
Reports suggested that members of the squad were consuming significant amounts of alcohol during a time off in the beach town of Noosa in the gap between the second and the third Tests.
One unconfirmed video sparked heightened scrutiny on the team and on Duckett specifically.
"I get on with Ducky well contacted him to see if he was alright," commented Head.
"We are all still people. What you do in your own time is your own business.
"I understand we live a high profile life and certain individuals are more visible than others.
"Ultimately, it is a rather harsh but I don't believe there is any real issue."
Context of the Situation
The team's four nights in Noosa came after they had fallen 2-0 down in the Ashes series after defeats in the first two Tests.
Multiple news organizations stated that some players were consuming alcohol for a large part of their time on the coastal break, as well as on two earlier days in Brisbane.
Although they gave an improved performance in the next Test, they were defeated in Adelaide to concede the series to Australia.
Head's Viewpoint
Speaking after England's victory in the Melbourne Test, Head said: "I was jealous.
"People has made a bigger deal than was necessary.
"We have done the very same on previous tours. I don't have an issue with it."
